AM

Just got into my AM Springboard Maya workshop!

Yay! So excited I can’t wait to start!

Other then that I’ve been doing a bit a drawing and have been having trouble finding a spot in the computer lab to work on walk cycles but soon that won’t matter because I will have my own copy of Maya.

New walk cycle, I have been struggling with the graph editor but I think I’m starting to get the hang of it.

This is the end of package man.

Dennis recommended this new rig so I’m psyched to try it out. I hope I will be able to block out a new walk today before I go home.

Trying to get the hang of the graph editor. I’m still doing something wrong because I can’t seem to properly manipulate my key frame handles.

Regardless I worked today just trying to do the famous bouncing ball.

Tomorrow I will try to work on polishing my Walk Cycles.

Class went pretty well on Tuesday, I was happy.

gestures30 sec- 1 min.

figure series3 min each.

figure series 2

5 mins each (the 3mins’ turned out a bit better *shurg*)

portrait

30 mins (I can never get that jaw line the way I want it)

detailed?

20 min. Really nice exercise for a  figure drawing class, start in one spot and don’t move out until the your done with it. Really fun being the opposite of how I usually draw in a figure drawing class. (I started with the ear hole)

That’s all I got.

Oh and Dennis DeMercer is awesome. He has been helping me with all of my recent animation stuff. So if anyone ever reads this blog they should check his out for sure! (just click his name)

Tried to copy this from page 164 in the Animator’s Survival Kit.

Based this of off the small walk cycle on page 150. I liked it a lot more before I changed the stepped tangents to linear.

Any criticism is welcome and appreciated.

Tuesday’s Figure drawing went really well, I will try to post up some gestures and such tonight.

Last night’s class was nice. I have been struggling to draw lately especially in class, but last night was much better. I took a bit of a break from school to try to fall in love with drawing again.

15-30 sec.

Line1

15 min. The shadeing is really just an after thought, really what I wanted to do was focus on line and perspective.

Its a new way of drawing I have been playing with. I have been reading about it in…

VanArts is a school located in Vancouver B.C. It teaches several different things, but most importantly (to me at least), they have an animation program. Hopefully if all of my plans work out I will be able to go visit Vancouver in a couple weeks and see the School first hand.

I don’t really know anything about VanArts all I know is once upon a time it came recommended by someone I trust.

On other business I have class tonight and hope to bring back somethings to post.

I’ve spent the better part of the past two days trying to get the slightest grasp of maya.

It looks choppy I’m not to happy with it, but its a start. I think i need to learn how to read the graph editor.

My first walk cycle. Also my favorite piece of animation I have ever DONE! (there haven’t been very many).

This is my first character I think I ever invented. His name is Milton and he had a great day today. Milton was born about two years ago while I was still at AIS.

(I apologize for making you watch such a short video. It looks better when it loops.)
